Doggy Behavior.

cat, Josie
Just having a dog, any dog, is going to take some getting used to.  For a cat person like me, anyway.

Case and point: this morning, Johanna erped up quite a reasonable volume of partially digested breast milk.  I was holding her, and most of it landed on the deck.  You know what the dog did?  Of course you do.

I'm sure this behavior comes in handy sometimes, and in a way I find it not only a potential convenience, but also kind of...brave?  Fearless?  Still, I can assure you that my cats -- even the crazy one who eats peanuts -- would never go for baby erp.

That's one of the main reasons to have dogs. I only have to clean up the floor after feeding Stella if I've fed her leafy greens. Pretty much everything else gets hoovered by the dogs before I've even realized it has fallen.

I think I read somewhere that it can be an instinctive behavior to leave no trace of the pack anywhere. That's why some dogs eat poo, too.

Also, dogs are scavengers, so they gobble up anything they think is food.

Yum.

Junie, our 6.5 year old saluki/goldie blend, sits under Max at every meal. Saves on sweeping.

Not to be gross here but dogs eat poo BTW because carnivore poo contains a high quantity of undigested meat. Think of it like those people who drink that weird coffee that's been partially digested by vietnamese foxes. eeew

Dogs are better than most vacuum cleaners, especially when it comes to food of most any type or form!
